IF YOU TAKE SOME COTTON BALLS, RUB "VASOLINE" ALL AROUND IT, STICK THEM IN A SEAL PROOF COTAINER YOUR HAVE INSTANT FIRE STARTER WHILE HIKING/CAMPING/SURVIVAL....

Keep a plastic "twister" type of pencil sharpener handy. It's great for shaving kindling (especially if wood is damp)

Save the lint that you/ the wife cleans out of the lint trap from the dryer. store in a zip lock. Light it poof fire!!!

Get a steel wool pad and rub it with the terminals on a 9 volt battery...instant fire!!!

If you have some of the older hand sanitizer it was 90% alcohol. Great fire starter. I carry one in each of my backpacks, ATV bag, etc.

if you carry a small bic lighter and it gets wet you can dry it out and light your fire with still.LOL

Woody...a propane torch will start a fire even with wet wood...I'll bet ya off camera those survival shows had one.
