Made up my mind that I'm getting a kayak. Been looking at them since I started at Jay's. The last 2 years we've hosted a kayak try out day at the VFW in town, so have had a chance to paddle some around. Two of our reps bring out about 30 different kayaks for people to try before they buy!! They are soooooo much fun!!! Going to go with a Scrambler 11, Ocean Kayak, its a sit on top. We're starting to get some in already so am waiting to see if we're going to get the color I want, lime green. Have always been a diehard canoeist especially for fishing. Don't think I could part with it, been alot of fun. Can't have too many toys!!!! ;D

I've been paddeling now for almost 10 years and still have the 14' Old Town Egret I bought when I first got into the sport. I took a self rescue/paddle technique class from an outfit located in the middle of the state when I realized I didn't have a clue what to do if I capsized out in the middle of a lake. Only thing I regret is that I didn't learn how to roll my boat when I had the chance. One of these days I will get enough gumption to build a Pygmy kit boat. I think Drummond Island would be a great place to paddle around. Should there be a ride scheduled for up there later this year, the boat will be going with me and the quad.

Funny, So much to do there but all i do is quad. Would like to hike it a little, fish it a little, Wildlife watch a little, find more Finnish Settlements from days long ago etc. I have a couple of book about the Island. Interesting stuff there for sure! I will hit the historical museum next trip for sure!!!
