Finally!!!!!! Got to take the New CST ABUZZ tires for a spin this weekend. The weather at the Trailhead we left from was Sunny and about 20-25 deg. The ATV trials had some Sled traffic on them, which is doable on a Sled, but our trails are only 50" wide and twisty for the most part. Back to the condition of the trails. With past traffic being on them, they had tracks that thawed and refroze. Which makes it like riding on a rollercoaster. They were pretty smooth and very fast still being frozen and packed on the bottom and just a few inches on top. During this ride, we got onto some sharred Sled/ORV routes. Routes are typically about 96'' wide. In the winter, a few of the Sled Trails are sharred with out ATV routes. Anyways, they too were hard packed from all the sled traffic. Later, after lunch, we headed back into the woods and onto our 50'' ATV trails. These trails had NOT be ridden on. All of this i will now exlplain and how i liked/dislaiked these tires.
Hard packed Icy ATV trails with couple of fresh inches on top....10/10 These tires hooked up very very well. They rode nice and smooth as well. They followed the previous frozen tracks very well. While i was riding, i compaired it between riding on dirt and asphalt. Again 10/10
Hard packed Icy SNO/ATV Routes.10/10 Again, like being on the trails, these tires hooked up nicley. The surface was a snow covered chunky froze, thawed refroze type surface with a little SNIRT in spots. SNIRT is a snowy/dirt covered word sledders use for the condition there trails are sometimes in.
Soft bottom loose top snow covered 50" ATV trails 9/10 They hooked up ok. My first thought was that these tires start to shutter alot quicker than other tires i have had in the snow. They did what they needed to do, but like i said, shuttered alot quicker.
Sidewall thoughts 10/10 I played around a bit trying to purposely climb out of the trail from going forward to climbing up the snow covered embankmnet. The side wall on these tires did an awesome job of going where i pointed them.
Tracking in Deep snow: They like most ATV tires i have used tend to track a little from side to side. I don't really mind this as i just look at it like there doing what they were made to do, Find Traction.
Overall, for at least snow riding for now, i highly recommend these tires. Overall thoughts: 9.5/10
Cheers, Tim
