Just picked up a brp snow plow for my Outlander. Anyone ever use one? I don't imagine it will see alot of use but will give a reason to ride the quad in town Is it hard on a winch to raise and lower to blade just a few inches over and over? If you have any tips or suggestions, pass along. I will post my findings as I install and use the blade.

I HAVE NEVER USE THAT BRAND PLOW, I DID HAVE A WARN ON MY KODIAK WHEN I HAD IT. I PERSONALLY DID NOT LIKE USING THE WINCH FOR LIFTING THE PLOW. I DON'T KNOW IF IT WAS THE WAY WARN SET IT UP TO LIFT THE PLOW, BUT I JUST DIDN'T LIKE THE WAY MY ROPE LOOKED WHILE USING IT AND AFTER TOO... IF I DO IT AGAIN, I MIGHT JUST GO WITH A MANUAL LIFT??? GOOD LUCK EVA...PLEASE SHARE YOUR THOUGHTS WHEN INSTALLING.

Okay, turns out it the plow is a dozer blade from Tusk Offroad. Well it was a good deal anyhow, never used and way less than the cost of new. So I installed it yesterday. It went pretty easy. There was a large plate that mounted flush to the frame belly. Then another mounting plate mounts to it. The 2nd plate can easily be removed for trail riding. I will leave the big plate on and see how it goes, it may act like a skid plate. Time will tell. The plow and push bars easily and quickly connect to the quad now. The winch worked perfect to lift the blade, does't seem to be any strain. I would imagine it will cause the cable some wear, but that's what it's for. I don't think it will see heavy use. I did a little plowing. Operated well. It really loads the front end when you lift the blade! The front end must drop about 4 inches when lifted.

I don't know if the 400 has an adjustable front suspension but if it does you may want to put the preload on the shocks to the max. That's what I have to do on my Grizzly when I put the plow on.

If the sag in the front end bothers you, the Outty Max front springs and shocks are said to do a better job for that. www.atvfrontier.com I've no comparison though...I've always plowed with my Max..it has a 48" Kimpex blade with a Tooltime special snow flap lol.
