I heard the Tooltime was getting a set of Bighorns. Just wondering why and if others would recommend them. I am looking at those or a set of ITP Mudlites. Mostly trail riding with the occasional mud. Gonna put them on my Grizzly 700.

AARON, BACK IN THE DAY I BOUGHT A SET OF GBC DIRT TAMERS. COPY OF THE HORNS. JUST BIAS PLY. I REALLY LIKED THE WAY THEY HOOKED UP. FROM SOFT SAND TO ROCK CLIMBING TO BREAKING TRAIL IN 12" OF SNOW AND EVEN A FEW MUDHOLES. THE GBC'S WERE AN UNSTOPPABLE WEAR PROOF ALL AROUND GREAT TIRE. IN TRUTH, TO ME TIRES ARE TIRES. IF I GET STUCK I GET STUCK AND SO ON. THE NEXT REASON I BOUGHT THEM IS I SEE "ALOT" OF THOSE GNCC TYPE RACES WITH UTE'S ARE RUNNING THEM. MIKE PENLAND RUNS THEM. IF ALOT OF PEOPLE LIKE THAT ARE USING THEM, IM SOLD:) MY NEXT CHOICE WAS GONNA BE THE MUDLITE XTR'S. LET ME KNOW YOUR PRICE WHEN YOU GO TO BUY THEM....

I think I am going to go with the Bighorns. Now to save some cash.:-) My concern is that they may weigh quite a bit more but I think the Grizzly can handle it.

Thanks for the link. That pretty much solidifies my decision. Time to go look in the couch for some extra change.

I am still considering the tire options... I found Bighorns from a place on the internet for $309 + shipping. Are the Mudlites worth the addtional cost? Will the bighorns be OK for the mud that we occasionally encounter in MI (LP & UP)? I am trying to decide before Tuesday, because they told me the price on the bighorns would be going up Tuesday.

I'm in the same boat. My tires are in good shape but I like the look and traction of the mudlites..... so confused. Another issue, my has a "crack" on the side of on of her tires. It looks as if it came from the inside, material defect. Anyone have similar circumstance?

both of those tires are a good option. if i did not get a deal from spongetom on the horns, i would have gone with the itp's. i did not want a mud scrictly tire..to rough of a ride. most tire will do ok in mud. besides, it's fun to get stuck sometimes

I think I am going to go with the Bighorns that I found. Standard size (25") and I am planning on using the existing stock wheels. Every place that I looked, the mudlites were always more expensive. Furthermore, the big horns were way more expensive than $309 every place I checked as well. Thanks for the help. I think I will be happy with the bighorns.

I had the Big Horns and sold them, now having said that I didn’t sell them because I didn’t like them (I did like them) I sold them to go back to my old Badlands ATR’s.
The reason for this was because I felt the Big Horns were more aggressive a tire for the way I ride, I like the way the Badlands ride on the type of terrain I ride on. If I were to get more Aggressive (not going to happen in this life time) I would go back to the BH in a New York Min.
The wife and I now days are looking for easier trails, we like doing more routes, runs up to food and gas stops and enjoy just taking our time, and grandma is even getting a bit slower then before…
We both love the riding in WV, we stay to the green trails and do some of the blue, but mostly like the green stuff.
So for a rating on the BH I would give them a 5star.
I give the Badlands a 5star also for what I do with them.
I hope this helps…

Thank you guys for the help... my problem may be that I'm just to cheap to make the commitment!

Well, I went with the bighorns this evening. I ended up purchasing them from Rocky Mountain ATV because the shipping was free. The other place I found would have been about $370 with the shipping and I could save myself about $20. I would expect that I would have them in about a week or so. Thank you all for the advice.

Well I settled on the Big Horns as well. (I ordered them first Buck!) Installed them last Saturday and they look mean. It was really helpful going up to Monkey Butt Grizzly Fest and seeing all the Grizzly's will all different tire sizes and types. Got some good hands on exposure. Settled on the 26" since the 27" MudLites looked to big in my opinion. Now I have to see how they work. Thanks for all the input guys.
