FROM HULBERT MI IN THE UP YOU CAN VISIT THE BACK SIDE OF THE UPPER FALLS. ITS A SHORT WALK FROM THE "OFF THE DIRT ROAD" PARKING LOT. GREAT VIEWS FOR SURE I SAY HULBERT BECAUSE I HAVE STAYED THERE IN THE HOTEL MANY TIMES. A VERY VERY SMALL TOWN. FROM THERE YOU CAN PRETTY MUCH RIDE TILL YOUR HEARTS CONTENT here is a link to that hotel. owners name is rich. tqoutfitters.com/index.html

If your looking at riding in the area you can't beat Luce County, miles and miles of trails plus open roads to ride in the county.
1 lighthouse, the big lake, open roads, Luce has it all plus as Tim said the Falls.
We love it and hope to go back in 07....
See you there Tim.

We went to the Falls couple years ago when there was about 12" of snow and it was a cold walk too - but "Wow" the view was fantastic. The copper from the river spraying up and landing on the snow. Amazing.

Woody,
I hope you don’t mind me asking but how are you going to get to the falls from where you’re staying in Grand Marais??
When Lois and I had our land north of Newberry we couldn’t get to the falls without riding on M-123, which is not allowed.
There is an open snowmobile gate off county road 500 but it’s all cattails swamp just ask Scott R & Tim.
The Snowmobile route(Gate) off Skyline Rd is closed and doesn’t cross M-123 anywhere that I know of.
If you would I love to know the route you guys are taking to the falls. We did try and get down the back side from the Lighthouse but that’s all private land. We use to ride to the Month of the Two-Hearted all the time, looking back I wish we still had that 20, oh well.
Thanks.
BTW- will you be posting where you guys are staying, also will there rooms never by. I can’t make the weekend (Sunday) but I was hoping on maybe Friday of the next week.

Woody,
We would love to but this year vacation times at a premium plus that’s the week/weekend that I’m going fishing with the guys, they have it book all ready.
I would give her a call back and ask a few more questions on the route to the Falls from where you’re staying, when we did the falls it was always from the back side of the river coming up from Hulbert. Keep in mind also that from the north side the only way in is via the two state parks and you can’t ride your machines in those state parks. Now that’s been 5 years ago that we sold the land so maybe there’s a new route, I would definitely check.

I remember that day very well, and like Scott said Tim was just walking around saying it’s never coming out of all that mud.
Best part was it took two Polaris’s to pull the Yamaha out and even then it as touch and go.
This is/was the only way I know how to get to the Falls from the north side of US123 east of CO500.
