Polaris Hub’s:
2004 was the split year:
Early 2004’s still have the Hubs at each wheel.
Late 2004’s or so called 2004 ½ have the centralize clutch, NO HUBs, no front gear case, only the CH clutch up front.
If you have a 2004 it’s very easy to tell, just look at the Hubs.

Mine must be an early 2004 cause it has the front hubs that each house fluid.
So far, the only issue I've had with my SpHO500 is an overheating issue - once - while plowing show. Fan never kicked on and I had coolant everywhere. Since then I've put on a temp gauge so I can monitor it myself. Been good since then ........maybe it knows "I'm watching" !!

Too Funny..
I know on my 2004 1/2 it over heated when I was plying in the mud and didn't wash it out. I have had a few others issues but after 2800 miles she's still going and going and going.
If you drop the mount (front bolts only) you should be able to pull the plug on the front gear case. I change all fluids once per year, so it's not a big deal.

Yeah - I've been changing all my fluid annually too - except for lately - been changing the hub and engine oil every 6 months. The front hub has been changed by taking out the fluid from the fill hole on the top - obviously not the best way though. As soon as it warms up - I'll try dropping the front bolts only and check it out. What I need is a heated pole barn !!!! Come on LOTTO !

Correction - the front gear case has been changed from the fill hole - not the hubs.

Yes it was, I did the same.
I am by no means an expert on Polaris, all I can say is that I have had a number of machines for some time, so if anyone has any issues I would be glad to give it a shot and see if I can’t help.
